Und das Angela Ahrendts teuer war, zeichnete sich bereits vor der Veröffentlichung von den offiziellen Börsenunterlagen ab. Steve Jobs hat sich einmal wie folgt zum Thema Personal zitieren lassen:

„Here's why Apple might make a stylus for the iPad“ Klar ist sollte sein: Apple legt keinen 20 US-Dollar-Stylus bei. Ein iPad-Stylus ginge Hand in Hand mit einer systemweiten Displaytechnik für Druckempfindlichkeit, so wie sie das Microsoft Surface mitbringt. Version 1 und 2 setzten auf Wacom und erlaubten 1024 Druckstufen; das neue Surface Pro 3 wechselt auf NTrig mit (nur) 256 Druckstufen. Das scheint in Tests ausreichend präzise und war zwingend notwendig um die Display-Dicke zu reduzieren. Ob und wie Apple ein solches Thema angeht, ist die eigentlich spannende Frage, die sich hinter dem Gerücht ‚iPad (Pro) mit Stylus‘ versteckt.
